Getting to know us
Locc Leigh Creek provides you with all the information you need about the locality. Beyond servicing as the local information outlet for the town, we are also an open cut café where you can get snacks, among many other things.
Liz and Buddy operate the place with Liz’s Open Cut Cafe’s friendly staff, and we take pride in providing high-quality service and customer satisfaction in both the Cafe and Visitor Information Outlet. We have been serving as the local information outlet for some years now since the visitor information centre closed down some years ago.
Come to the Liz Open Cut Café, try our famous homemade hamburgers or choose from our huge range of freshly cooked meals and snacks from either our breakfast or main menu.
We also have a great range of milkshakes, smoothies, freshly made sandwiches and rolls, cakes, slices, ice-creams and cold drinks. Our HOT roast chickens are cooked daily, and don’t forget our “Aroma Fresh” cappuccinos, lattes and hot chocolates, just what you need after a long day of travelling through the outback.
Whatever it is you need, you can come to us, and we will do everything we can to meet your needs and expectations. Our service offerings are tailored towards guiding visitors through their experience in Leigh Creek and ensuring they make the most of it.
Leigh Creek is an exciting place to visit for tourists, and there is a good reason it is described as the little Oasis in the desert. Visiting here will allow you to experience why this name has stuck with the town, and you can expect to have a great time with the hospitable locals making you feel welcome when you visit.
At the Liz Open Cut Café, which also serves as the local visitor information centre, you will not only get snacks and beverages that you can eat there, but they also offer catering services. If you visit Leigh Creek for business or social events, speak to Liz about the group or party catering, whatever it is to suit your needs. The place can also seat up to 50 people, so buses and coaches are always welcome. A set menu to dine in can be organised, or we do have a takeaway menu if you don’t have the time to stop.
If this is your first time visiting Leigh Creek, you have nothing to worry about because the Locc Leigh Creek website will provide you with all the basic information you need while in town. We ensure that the website is kept up to date so visitors can make plans in advance. For any information that you cannot find on the website, Liz Open Cut Café is always open except on public holidays and Sundays, and it serves as the visitor information centre.
